> The most awaited Samurize Plugin which works for ANY MEDIA PLAYER, (WMP, VLC, iTunes, WinAMP, foobar2000, Firefox, IE, Media Monkey...) is here

> This is a highly configurable spectrum analyzer / VU meter. It's NOT tied to any specific player, NOR does it require any plugins to be used by your music player. It analyzes the audio output of the sound card in REALTIME: it works with music, games, TV, DVD, etc.

:? Installation :?
> Watch this video for installation…
> See included instructions in the download for setting up.
> Samurize works on Windows 8 / 7 / Vista (64 bit and 32 bit). Use Compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3) in properties dialog of Samurize Setup.
> This plugin Works by analyzing your sound output via the "Stereo Mix" Device. It WON'T WORK if you don't have it. You may try updating your audio card drivers.

I'm looking for a way to change the refresh rate to 144hz, much like my monitor. I've gone through the config files and the Winamp plugin settings. It looks like the most I can get is 50ms or 20fps. The config won't allow a value lower than 50ms, it just replaces any number lower than 50. The Winamp plugin settings don't seem to affect the visualization. Is this just because Samurize is for windows xp or is it broken? Am I doing something wrong? With most monitors being able to run 60hz or higher, making higher refresh-rates a feature will improve the entire experience for the future.

Just posting this encase it helps someone.

I was having issues with stereo mix, in that it wasn't actually receiving any audio (the bars on the right did not move). After hours of trying to fix that I noticed another comment about changing the  SpecGPSet.ini file and thought I'd give it a shot.

To get it to work I changed the AudioInput=-1 to AudioInput=1 and set "What U Hear" as my default device.
If I'm right that changed what it was listening to from "StereoMix" to "What U Hear". I'm not entirely sure about the way this is programmed so I cant say for certain but it would appear that changing that value affects what it is listening to, so if you have a recording device that is just listening to system sound it should work in theory.

Do note that If you edit the .ini file in anyway you have to go into samurize and reload the config.
Also note that I am using a Creative SoundBlaster sound card, the playback device is set to "speakers" and I have a recording device "What U Hear."
Hope this helps! :)

What U Hear is not available in all pc's

Which is why I specified what I was using. Though it seems like if you have something other than StereoMix that monitors your system sound and you changed the aforementioned value it might still work.
As I mentioned, I don't know how this is coded so I don't know if this will work under all conditions, but you might be able to play with it and get it to work.

is there any way to make the equalizer work through a playback device rather than a recording device?
